CARE Arthritis is committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our clients. This privacy policy outlines the practices we follow in protecting personal information.

This privacy policy applies to CARE Arthritis and to any person providing services on our behalf. A copy of this privacy policy is provided to any client on request.

What is personal information?

Personal information means information about an identifiable individual. This includes an individual's name, home address and phone number, age, sex, marital or family status, an identifying number, financial information, educational history, etc.

Personal information we collect:
  • Name
  • Email address
  • Profession or Occupation
  • Name and address of place of business
  • Social Media links (optional)
  • Profile photo (optional)
Other information we collect, linked to your user account:
  • Date and time of each login
  • The public IP address of your network location at each login
  • Interactions with certain content, including:
    • For the Online MRI Course, the date and time each case is started and completed, your interactions with image features, and your self-assessment exam responses.
    • For the CARE App, time stamps of your interactions with the case content (so that we can see how long users are interacting with the material), your quiz responses, and your comments.
    • For our image scoring systems, the date and time each case is started and completed, and all scoring data entered during a scoring session, including comprehensive audit trails of data inserts, updates, and deletions.

We collect your personal information in order to verify your identity and ensure that you are eligible to view content on our site that we or our clients deem to be protected or confidential.

We track your login times and IP addresses in order to ensure authorized use of your account.

We track certain interactions with our content to gather metrics on how long tasks take.

Cookies are used in your Internet browser to keep track of your session while logged on. The Cookies are set to expire upon logout, or when you close your browser.

For users accessing the online MRI course, your name will be shared with the sponsor of this online course for your region, if applicable. No other personal information that we collect will be shared with any third party unless prior arrangements have been made with all affected parties, or if required by law.

How do we safeguard personal information?

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that personal information is accurate and complete. We rely on individuals to notify us if there is a change to their personal information that may affect their relationship with our organization. If you are aware of an error in our information about you, please let us know and we will correct it on request wherever possible. In some cases we may ask for a written request for correction.

Personal information transmitted to CARE Arthritis over the Internet is encrypted with industry-standard strength encryption. Databases are password-protected, and servers are in a secure location protected by a firewall to prevent unauthorized access.

Data retention

All data collected by CARE Arthritis is retained indefinitely unless otherwise specified by client contract. When a user deletes their CARE Arthritis account, data is deleted as described below.

Deleting your account

Users of the CARE App can delete their account from the app. Users can also delete their account on the CARE Arthritis website from the user profile page (Link). However, users who have entered any data into our online image scoring systems cannot delete their account using this method, and must instead submit a formal request to CARE Arthritis.

When an account is deleted, all personal information identified above is deleted. Entered data linked to the account is disassociated with the account and cannot be traced back to the deleted account holder. To delete entered data, you must make a formal request to CARE Arthritis.
