Rana Dadashova is an Associate Project Manager for the RA BIODAM study. On a daily basis, she plans and coordinates all operational activities required for the collection and delivery of biosamples and various images within the study. She serves as the first point of contact for study sites worldwide to ensure that the images and biosamples are collected in accordance with GCP and ethical standards and are of good analyzable quality.

Rana Dadashova graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine, Azerbaijan Medical University in 1995. She started her research career in 2002 when she served as a National Coordinator of the Information and Research Center in Azerbaijan. In 2006, she moved to Canada and continued her research activities as Research Assistant and Clinical Study Coordinator for several clinical trials in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta. She is experienced in clinical trials conducted in the fields of Neurology and Psychiatry.

In 2011, she successfully graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master Degree of Science in Psychiatry. In that same year, she joined the team at CaRE Arthritis.

Rana has a long standing career interest in advancing the methodology and conduction of research studies that ultimately leads to the improvements in help for individual patients.

After completing NAIT’s Office and Records Administration program in 2003 and Medical Transcription program in 2004, Michel joined the University of Alberta’s support staff team. In 2005, Michel began working in the Division of Rheumatology where she worked closely with all the physicians, including Dr. W. Maksymowych. After 5 years as a medical secretary, she assumed responsibility for co-ordinating the first Divisional Rheumatology Triage service. This has now been operating successfully for the past 3 years.

Michel is currently the office manager at CaRE Arthritis Ltd. She maintains office operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. Her responsibilities include taking minutes, payroll, site payments, bookkeeping, flow of correspondence, filing, personnel record keeping, and preparing and coordinating conferences and meetings. Her specific interests include travelling, reading, cooking, exercising, and taking her Shih Tzu to the dog park.

Joel Paschke is the Information Technology Manager for CaRE Arthritis. Joel has a B.Sc. with a Specialization in Computing Science from the University of Alberta. He has over 20 years’ experience in the design, development, maintenance, and management of software systems in fields of telecommunications, software medical devices, and electronic data capture. Joel has extensive experience in Oracle database management systems, and has worked in many different computer languages including Swift, HTML, Javascript, Python, and R.
